Alfa Romeo 4C: Paint Correction & Ceramic Nano Coating

The owner of this 2015 Alfa Romeo 4C is a distinguishing businessman with refined taste and a practical outlook. So, after he picked up his Alfa with 885 miles on the clock, he was no less than shocked at the condition of the paint. After our first conversation I could sense the frustration that the eye candy level of his road eating Italian machine was less than acceptable. In order to make this vehicle as visually appealing to they eye as it is to drive, a great deal of paint correction would need to be coupled with a ceramic nano coating as the finishing process.
When I first laid eyes on the paint, I was repeatedly shaking my head and breathing heavily at the condition of paint on a vehicle under 900 miles. Secondly, the paint on these vehicles is known to be the thorn in the side of detailers everywhere. Its sprayed on so thin that between many body panels the base coat is visible. Also, the paint is so soft that the misuse of even the softest towels can easily cause surface scratches. That being said, the heavy breathing was due to the fact that the defects were so very heavy in number and in frequency across the surface of the painted areas. So I knew that to bring this beauty back some extreme patience and persistence were needed. See the starting condition below:
So with all of these conditions the paint correction gauntlet was set. Oh, and a challenge it was! The paint required extreme patience to correct because of varying substrates below the paint all handle heat differently. Also, the vehicle is so angular very similar to a Ferrari F40 with thin edges that one too many passes could result in sheering off too much paint down to primer.
In the end the correction process took about twice as long as anticipated. HOWEVER the results were no less than stunning once the Ceramic Nano Coating was applied.
After tree sap (pictured above) was removed from 3/4 of the painted surfaces the paint correction process began. Ultimately all of the surfaces were brought a level worthy of the Alfa Romeo badge and for the Ceramic Nano Coating. With the addition of the ceramic nano coating, the paint will be protected from UV rays, chemical contaminants, and other environmental contaminants.
This video helps to capture the essence of this fun little go kart in person. She was blinding after a full paint correction & ceramic nano coating. Make sure to watch in HIGH DEFINITION!
In the end the client was thrilled with the result and quickly scheduled another appointment for another vehicle and, yes, it was of course another Jet Black European specimen.
